Am 17. März 2012 wird Herrn Erdogan, Ministerpräsident der Türkei, der Steiger Award verliehen. Dieser steht für Offenheit, Menschlichkeit und Toleranz. Da die Lage der Christen in der Türkei jedoch genau das Gegenteil unter Beweis stellt, fordern wir euch auf, eine Protestnachricht an die Kontaktadresse (office@saschahellen.com) des Steiger Awards zu schreiben. Derzeit findet im bayerischen Tutzing die 20. Jahrestagung der Solidaritätsgruppe Turabdin/Nordirak statt. Neben dem 20. Jubiläum der Solidaritätsgruppe widmet man sich dem Thema “Religionsfreiheit verteidigen – Christen schützen”. MdL Martin Neumeyer beim Integrationsgottesdienst in Augsburg

Ein Integrationsgottesdienst mit anschließender Podiumsdiskussion in der syrisch-orthodoxen St.-Marien-Gemeinde in der Augsburger Zusamstraße zeigte am Sonntag, den 29.01.12 um 8.45 Uhr, wieder einmal, dass ein Miteinander sämtlicher Kulturen möglich ist. Initiiert wurde die Messe vom Integrationsbeauftragten des syr.-orth. Klosters Warburg Simon Jacob in Zusammenarbeit mit Martin Neumeyer (MdL) und dem Kirchenrat der Gemeinde. Gäste waren u.a. Thomas Prieto Peral, Kirchenrat der ev.-luth. Landeskirche in Bayern, Prälat Dr. B. Maier (kath. On December 23, President Barack Obama signed the 2012 Appropriations Bill into law. This bill contains language calling for the US government (USG) and specifically the state Department to assist in the implementation of article 125 of the Iraqi constitution and to report back to Congress within 90 days from the date of the enactment of the Bill on the efforts to help the ethno-religious minorities in the Nineveh Plain area. Condemns Continuous Oppression of Assyrians in Iraq

As the United States prepares to withdraw its troops from Iraq, a horrible wave of terrorism has swept several towns in the Kurdistan Region. On Friday, December 2, 2011, starting in Zakho, thousands of young men paraded through several areas, destroying, pillaging and burning shops, hotels, and other properties. The attacks spread to 5 other towns and carry the hallmarks of an organized campaign. Their targets were the properties of the indigenous inhabitants of the area; the Chaldean Syriac Assyrians and the Yezidis, who have been the subjects of severe persecution.
