Muslims in Egypt Burn Christian Homes and Shops
A Muslim mob attacked Copts today in the Upper Egyptian village of Rahmaniya-Kebly, Nag Hammadi, Qena province, destroying and torching their homes, straw huts and shops, while chanting Allahu Akbar. Mr. Noray Betbaba, President of Seyfo Center USA, attended a seminar, in Bonn, Germany on December 12, and 13, 2011, organized by the European Association for the Education of Adults and Academia in cooperation with the Columbia University Institute for the Human Rights (ISHR). There were over 100 renowned intellectuals in attendance, representing various organizations in their own countries. US Withdrawal leaves Minorities in Danger
The US withdrawal from Iraq could spell the last push factor for the remaining members of Iraq’s vulnerable minorities. Iraq is far from a safe and functioning country. Attacks continue to threat civilians. The violence has forced more than 60 percent of Iraq’s Assyrian population to flee the country. Assyrians in Iraq continue to be the targets of systematic violence, whether in areas under the central government or the Kurdish administrated area.
