Scholars Urge Armenia to Officially Recognize Assyrian Genocide

(AINA) — The Assyrian Genocide Research Center (Seyfo), based in Sweden, has sent a letter to Serzh A. Sargsyan, the President of the Republic of Armenia, urging Armenia to officially recognize the Assyrian genocide, which occurred simultaneously with the Armenian Genocide. Assyrians, Armenians and Greeks were all victims of genocide between 1914 and 1923, a campaign which aimed, and succeeded, in cleansing the Ottoman Empire of most of it’s Christian subjects. Assyrian Genocide Monument Unveiled in Paris

An Assyrian Genocide monument was erected on Sunday, October 30 in Saint-Brice Paris in memory of Assyrian victims of genocides, including the the Turkish genocide of Assyrians in World War One, which claimed 750,000 Assyrian lives (75%). Der Assyrische Mesopotamien Verein Augsburg e. V. durfte am 01.05.2010 einen ehrenwerten Gast zu einem Vortrag begrüßen. Dieser war kein anderer als der anerkannte Malfono Sabri Atman vom Seyfo Center. Der Seyfo-Experte hielt einen Vortrag über den Völkermord von 1915 an den Assyrern (Suryoye), Armeniern und Pontos-Griechen im damaligen Osmanischen Reich. Dabei ging er insbesondere auf die Entwicklungen dieses, für die Türkei, „Tabuthema“ ein. Nach dem Vortrag hatte bethnahrin.de die Möglichkeit ein Interview mit Malfono Sabri zu führen.
