On 14 September 2012, a delegation headed by Mr. Hermiz Shahen, Deputy Secretary General of the Assyrian Universal Alliance (AUA) and Mr. David M. David , President of the Assyrian Australian National Federation met with the Hon. Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship.During which an official letter was presented to the Minister in which explains the tragic and dangerous situation that our people are facing in Iraq and Syria. Condemns Continuous Oppression of Assyrians in Iraq

As the United States prepares to withdraw its troops from Iraq, a horrible wave of terrorism has swept several towns in the Kurdistan Region. On Friday, December 2, 2011, starting in Zakho, thousands of young men paraded through several areas, destroying, pillaging and burning shops, hotels, and other properties. The attacks spread to 5 other towns and carry the hallmarks of an organized campaign. Their targets were the properties of the indigenous inhabitants of the area; the Chaldean Syriac Assyrians and the Yezidis, who have been the subjects of severe persecution. Gedenkveranstaltung an drei assyrische Persönlichkeiten im assyrischen Verein

Am 07.02.2009 fand im Assyrischen Verein Gütersloh eine Gedenkveranstaltung zu Ehren des vor 79 Jahren verstorbenen assyrischen Gelehrten und Begründer des Nationalgedankens Naum Faik, dem am 04. Januar 2009 verstorbenen ehemaligen US-Senator und ehemaligen Generalsekretär der Assyrian Universal Allianz (AUA) John Nimrod sowie dem am 06. Januar 2009 in Syrien verstorbenen Malfono Abrohom Nouro. Außerdem wurde ein Kurzvortrag über die Aktivitäten der Mor Afrem Stiftung gehalten. Weiterlesen
