The second of the ‚inter-religions dialogue‘ meetings, after the first one held in Harran, Urfa four years ago, took place in Mardin. The opening of the second meeting, entitled, „Inter-Cultural Dialogue/Mardin Meeting,“ was held in Kasimiyye Madrasah, Mardin and ended with a tour of Mardin city center, Midyat and Nusaybin. The Chaldean Syriac Assyrian General Conference was held in Baghdad in the period of 22-24 October, 2003 under the motto of “Our Unity and Our National and Patriotic Rights in Iraq”. The Conference was held under the patronage of Dr. Ayad Alawi, the rotating interim President of the Iraqi Governing Council, with the presence of Mr. Younadam Kanna the representative of our people in the Iraqi Governing Council and the representative for Mr. Paul Bremer, Head of Civil Administration in Iraq as well as representatives of various national Iraqi parties. The Conference was also attended by representatives our people’s political parties and organizations and its religious, civic and cultural institutions throughout Iraq. Ich bin zur Zeit 96 Jahre alt. Zur Zeit des Massakers war ich 13 Jahre alt. Ich kann mich genau daran erinnern, ich war damals Schafhirte und konnte noch kein Gewehr benützen. Damals gab es ca. 70 assyrische Familien in Keferbe. Diese Familien gehörten einigen Sippen an. Ich kenne alle Familien. Der Name unserer Sippe lautet Bassoka. Außerdem gab es noch die Sippen Ribasa, Zato, Komo, Usufke, Lazar, Schabo, Schiwan usw. Vor dem Massaker, war die Lebenslage noch gut, und wir hatten keinerlei Not oder Druck zu erleiden. Weiterlesen
